Gossard Bras

Gossard bras is one of, if not the, oldest lingerie brands around. They are not specifically large cup bras, like some of the other brands such as Freya, Fantasie, Elomi, Panache, Curvy Kate, Goddess or Chantelle (hence the somewhat modestly sized models below) but they do supply sizes up to a G cup and also do some with large back sizes.

In recent history, I felt Gossard lingerie got left behind a little but as you will see below, they have recently spiced up their catalogue with more modern designs. I have split this long article into 2 to stop slow downloads. This is page 1 of 2. To see page 2 - click Gossard lingerie.

They produce a whole host of other items such as swimwear, sportswear and general lingerie but I am purely conventrating on Gossard bras.

The sizes usually run 30G - 38G so I will only add detail if that differs.

I have tried, wherever possible, to provide links to the official Gossard website which sells direct to the public, however.....

Apologies: the Gossard lingerie folk have an annoying habit of continually removing / changing the wonderful products shown from their site hence the links change and may suddenly not work. Where I spot a broken link I try to exchange it for one of the better web retailers but I may not spot them all so please email me if you find broken links.

The Current Gossard Bras Catalogue

I will start with the plunge bras as Gossard produce a lot, almost to the point of specialising in them. I include links to the products on the official Gossard website as they sell their lingerie direct to the public.

Botanical

Gossard Bras - The Botanical Plunge Bra

On The Prowl

Gossard Bra - On The Prowl

The Botanical plunge bra, with padded satin cups and a 'gateback' fastening. The sizes run 30G - 38G as does the On The Prowl below. There are matching briefs, thong or French knickers. There is even a matching slip and a cami.

The animal print On The Prowl style comes with matching Brazilian briefs. It I suspect the Gossard lingerie folks are beginning to close this line so if you fancy it, you will need to move quite quickly.

Superboost Satin

The Superboost Satin Gossard Bra

Superboost Lace

Gossard Lingerie - The Superboost Lace

The Superboost lace range is one of the most extensive ranges of Gossard bras. In the lace version there are 9 colours to choose. I have shown the fuschia. As the name suggests, it is padded for extra push up qualities. Indeed the A - D cup sizes also have removeable push-up pads (DD - G cups do not).

As you can tell, the whole design is all about enhancing that cleavage which may well suit that 'special occasion'. It has matching thong or shorts ( as shown).

There is also a balcony bra style in the Superboost Lace range. It is available in 6 colours: black, white, nude, rose, raspberry and midnight blue; all in the 30G - 38G size range.

The Superboost satin version was far simpler in that it was available in either nude or black. The size range was somewhat different though, it had the normal 30G- 38G, but also large back and large cup bras 40FF, 42F and 44E. There was also a matching thong as shown. However - I think it is now discontinued.

Edina

The Edina Gossard bra

Felicity

The Felicity Gossard bra

The Edina plunge bra is satin with silk trim. The colour is described as sapphire. It has the matching shorts shown and also a body in the same print. Interestingly, sizes E-G have inner netted cups for extra support.

Felicity Gossard bras use a print pattern from the 1850's. There are coordinated shorts available too.

Flower Rush

The Flower Rush Gossard Bra

Floral Print

The Floral Print Gossard plunge bra

The Flower Rush style is in a stretch satin fabric with lace detail. The colour is described as 'paradise pink' and appears to be less orange than the above photo looks. There is a choice of matching shorts (as shown), thong or French knickers. There is also a cami and a slip in the same pattern.

The Floral Print comes in a smooth satin fabric and the colour is described as grape. There are removable pads in cups A-D for extra cleavage boost but not in E-G cups. There is also a non padded alternative, designed for (and only available in) D-G cups. The photo features matching shorts but there were none available on the official Gossard bras website at the time of writing.

Ooh La La

Gossard Bras - The Ooh La La

Discontinued

Summer

Gossard Bras - The Summer

The Ooh La La was available in black or white (noir or ivory if you prefer the marketing speak). You can sometimes find a longline bra too. There is also a 'corselette' available in the ivory (a sort of basque with suspender belt attached) BUT I think it is now discontinued.

The Summer style has a non padded version alongside the plunge bra shown. It has a gateback fastening and a choice of matching shorts or a thong (see above). Oh and the colour is described as heather.

Lola

Gossard bras - The Lola

Sophia

The Sophia Gossard bra

The Lola is slightly different to most Gossard bras in that it only goes up to a E cup (30-38) so I would not classify it as one of the large cup bras but include it for completeness. However, it is available in a non padded version as well as the plunge. Note the cups are slightly sheer and the colour is described as neon pink. There are coordinated shorts or a thong.

The black Sophia also has slightly reduced sizes, running up to 30G-34G, 36FF and 38F. The briefs shown do not appear to be available on the official Gossard lingerie site but there is a slip and a suspender belt.

Did you like this page, did you learn something, maybe it reinforced you own views? I want to give as much (hopefully helpful) advice to the busty sisterhood as I can.

Please remember, we are all different. You may like to wear certain clothes and styles which I am suggesting that you should not. That is your absolute right. Do what makes you feel good. This site undeniably goes for the more modest approach because I feel all busty ladies already know how to be more racy if they wish.

It would really help me improve the site profile if you would click the Facebook 'Like' button. Pretty please! Susan

History of Gossard Bras

The company was started in 1901 by Henry Williamson Gossard, in Chicago, U.S.A. producing corsets and other ladies garments.

Gossard Lingerie History

It concentrated on the use of silk and moved from the U.S. to Britain and continued to specialise in corsets, girdles and then bras.

It became part of Courtaulds and benefitted from their textiles technology to introduce nylon and viscose.

The history of Gossard Lingerie

Courtaulds demerged it's textiles business and sold it to Sara Lee who in turn sold it to PD Enterprise Ltd.

Gossard Union Jack BraFlying The Flag
Amazon.com

If you are British, you may fancy flying the flag. I do not think it would be classified as and act of treason to remove it in a fit of passion; especially if you could justifiably claim you are, for the majority of the time, supporting national assets.

Annoyingly this item seems to be discontinued and / or really difficult to find especially in large cup bras.

Nothing helps a site like this more than 'normal' people (not clever marketeers) simply sharing a page or two.
