Loose Shirts For Women Should Be Banned

Loose shirts for women and more particularly baggy tops are generally not a good option and one of those classic 'what not to wear for big busts' contenders.

Loose Shirts

In fact if the Devil were a woman and decided to appear on Earth, this is what she probably would be wearing. Definitely one for the 'bad styles for big boobs' pile.

Possibly the most obvious mistake by busty women is to opt for the baggy look. You can understand why a generously endowed woman would do this.

You are fed up with people staring at your chest and know you can effectively hide it by shrouding it. But It can be a big mistake (with BIG being the operative word). However, for balance there are two styles that you may like to look at, smock tops and tunic tops, see below.

Why to Avoid Baggy Tops and Loose Shirts For Women

Do not get me wrong. Baggy tops or loose shirts for women trying to hide their boobs actually works. You can hide even the most massive boobs under a slack top. Should you be pleased?

......Not necessarily, you can one fell swoop become a bag lady. You can lose your feminine shape and become an amorphous blob.

I know this whole site spends a lot of time stressing the point about making the breasts 'look' smaller but do not miss a subtle, but essential  point.

You are looking to de-emphasise your boobs, not lose them. It is a pointless victory to successfully hide your boobs but end up looking like a walking fashion mistake and loose shirts for women are generally right up there in the lists of 'what not to wear for big busts'.

Are You a Loose Woman?

Shapeless tops

Above all else you want to maintain both your femininity and style. Loose shirts are the antithesis (yup I ate a dictionary for breakfast) of this.

A central theme of this site is style. Style for big breasted ladies or knowing what not to wear for big busts. Transforming yourself from a feminine shape by wearing a unstructured top you are doing yourself a severe disservice. There is little merit in looking like you have entered a sack race.

Why Not Wear Baggy Tops?

So why are baggy tops, or loose shirts for women, bad styles for big boobs? It is actually simple, because they makes you look bigger than you actually are.

Do you have a penchant for a poncho?

The two ladies above are considerably slimmer than they look in those tops. I know they are popular, but think long and hard about loose fitting sweat shirts and even more so for ponchos.

I actually have to admit a personal pathological hatred for ponchos. Leave them for wannabe Clint Eastwoods.

Okay, people may no longer look at your big bust but now everyone assumes you are a lot bigger than you really are. Dare I mention the word bulky? These are bad styles for big boobs.

Do you think it is just us normal women who fall into the limp clothes trap? Oh no, even papparazi fodder and the rich make the same mistake.

In fact there is one particular celebrity who has a seemingly fatal attraction for the baggy tops look.

Some Like Loose Fitting Clothing

Now this is a very curvy young woman with what many people would consider a fabulous figure. This (un-named) celebrity has both singing and acting talent and has raised and continues to raise the temperature of many American men.

I have seen her wearing clothes in which she sizzles but equally regularly seen her in outfits which make me wonder if she has a bit of a style bypass or simply does not understand what not to wear for big busts.

I do not think it is that. I think she simply gets fed up at people ogling her chest so she adopts baggy tops to deflect the attention from her boobs. These baggy tops certainly hide her breasts but does she look stylish? You decide.

Is There A Good Alternative?

Yes. In fact there are two. The two obvious suggestions are smock dresses and tunic dresses.

Smock Dresses

Short sleeve smock top
Ladies Gypsy style smock top

Tunic Dresses

Dipped hem colour block tunic
East Fara Print Tunic

For those of you who are unfamiliar with either of these two wonderfully versatile tops, please cheer yourself up and see the related pages at:

Just remember, if you are making an obvious attempt to hide something people are usually not fooled. They can see you are hiding something and will probably assume it is worse than it is. A synonym of loose is slack and that is not you want people thinking about your fashion sense.

That said you do not want anything too tight either. Simply go for clothes that fit.

Did you like this page, did you learn something, maybe it reinforced you own views? I want to give as much (hopefully helpful) advice to the busty sisterhood as I can.

Please remember, we are all different. You may like to wear certain clothes and styles which I am suggesting that you should not. That is your absolute right. Do what makes you feel good. This site undeniably goes for the more modest approach because I feel all busty ladies already know how to be more racy if they wish.

It would really help me improve the site profile if you would click the Facebook 'Like' button. Pretty please! Susan

This baggy top reminded me of the sort of thing Fred Flintstone wears. Even the belt fails to create shape.

Actually the empire line beneath the bust works well, it is just rendered null and void by the lack of definition beneath.
